About me: As a child I remember going to the Magasin. I must have been 6 or 7 my first time. One piece stands out in my mind today. It was a Vito Acconci piece. A blown up bra rested or hung in the gallery, mostly white, with a structural frame and some padding. It was a mixture, partly sculptural, partly architectural. I can't really recall how it looked, it was just a bra. It was white. It was big, or at least it seemed huge in comparison to my scale. I climbed into the cup. I was told by someone I could. It was a bit of a challenge to reach up into it. It was soft inside. The spherical cup engulfed me and forced me to curl up into a ball. A heart beat could be heard or felt through the membrane. I laid there for a while in the soft white light.
